Description

The Hemsley Building in New York forms the backdrop and simultaneously dresses the figure. The dimensions blur and cannot really be made out. The stylized fashion figure only apparently enters a scenery from which she protrudes and which nevertheless merges with her. Here Sylvia Schramm again follows her claim to conserve the ephemeral nature of movement as a perfect moment on metal.

Technique

Schramms artistic technique is digital painting, which she has developed into something unique with the knowledge gained from painting. The motif is printed onto a shiny aluminium plate using special, complex processes, which creates a coexistence between the background and the aplicated paint. The play between matt and shiny makes the viewer literally feel the fabric and figurative and characterizes her impressive unique pieces. In the same technique the artist developed her series of works “Cutout” from laser-cut, hand-polished aluminium plates.

Suspension:
Gallery rail + steel cables + metal hooks (hang in the rear spacers). Or: use dowels.
