Sylvia Schramm’s work captivates with matte-gloss effects that change her work in every light. The colors glow metallic and the surface has an exciting feel. She is concerned with the artistic interpretation of the fascination for traveling and motorcycling. The viewer sees one or more old gas pumps and flowers that Sylvia photographed while traveling along Route 66. She wants to capture the emotions in a tangible way and has partially doused and painted the surface with synthetic resin. At the bottom of the image, small screws were fixed to the resin. The “spirit” of driving through the landscape during a motorized tour, to feel the speed, to take in smells of flowers, but also of gasoline – all this merges painterly into this large-format work on metal background.<\/p>\n
