This graceful work combines the material with the figurative.

Originally, the ladies had met through a completely different hobby: riding Harley Davidson! But a visit to the design studio of former championship and couples dancer Beate Schlocker inspired Sylvia Schramm to a spontaneous photo shoot with the current dance dress designer. In one of her artistically and elaborately designed dresses, the Hanoverian transformed herself from “biker lady” to stage star from one minute to the next and floated, in perfect posture, across the parquet. Schramm’s thoughts swirled like the dancer’s gyrations, combining with the opulent fabrics and embroidery she had seen in the studio to create this unique work.

The partial application of slightly shimmering resin gives the work a plasticity and tactility. The colors shimmer and glow, depending on the light.

Technique

Schramms artistic technique is digital painting, which she has developed into something unique with the knowledge gained from painting. The motif is printed onto a metal plate by means of a special, complex process, whereby a Coexistence between substrate and paint is created. The interplay between matt and shine makes the viewer literally feel the material and figurative and characterizes her impressive unique pieces. The partial application of slightly shimmering synthetic resin gives the work a plasticity and feel. The colors shimmer and glow, depending on the light irradiation. Symbolically, in order to preserve the ephemeral, this work was “weightily” framed in industrial iron.

Suspension:
Gallery rail + steel cables + metal hook (hang in the frame hook) or: Use dowels.
